High-Density Sedimentation Tank

The high-density sedimentation tank (also called high-efficiency sedimentation tank) integrates coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and sludge thickening. By dosing coagulants and flocculants and installing inclined tubes (plates) to enhance solid-liquid separation, it offers high surface loading, small footprint and excellent effluent quality. It is widely used in water supply treatment, advanced wastewater treatment, water reuse and industrial wastewater treatment.

The high-density sedimentation tank, also known as a high-efficiency sedimentation tank (high-rate clarifier), is a high-efficiency solid-liquid separation device that organically combines mixing, flocculation, sedimentation and sludge thickening in one unit. By optimizing hydraulic conditions and enhancing flocculation, it greatly improves solid-liquid separation efficiency.

Working principle: after rapid mixing with coagulant dosing, the raw water enters the flocculation zone. Under the combined action of the flocculant and recycled sludge, dense flocs are formed. The water then enters the inclined-tube sedimentation zone for rapid settling. The clarified water is collected and discharged through the effluent collection trough, while the thickened sludge is discharged by the scraper and sludge discharge system.

The equipment has a high surface loading rate and large treatment capacity, occupying only a fraction of the footprint of conventional sedimentation tanks. It produces good effluent quality and stable operation, achieves a high degree of sludge thickening with low moisture content, and has strong shock load resistance and a high degree of automation.

It is widely used in water treatment, advanced sewage treatment, reclaimed water reuse, industrial wastewater treatment and upgrading projects.
